KARACHI, June 16: An accountability court on Saturday remanded former director of Callmate Ltd, Advocate Nadeem Ahmed, in judicial custody till July 10 in a fraud case involving Rs5 billion.

Seven people, including former directors and chief financial officer of the company, were nominated as the accused in the reference.

After investigation, it was, prima facie, found that the accused and others indulged in “cheating public at large by issuing calling cards to the general public all over the country worth about Rs120 million while neither the cards were activated, nor the amount was returned to the public as yet,” the sources said.—APP
